Once she learned what a veterinarian was, Dr. Byrd knew that was what she was called to do. Growing up, whenever someone asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, it was always "a vet!"
Always striving toward that goal, she attended Colorado State University for both undergrad and veterinary school. Graduating in 2010, she immediately moved back to Texas where she grew up and to be closer to family.
Though she had many varied interests in the field of veterinary medicine, she found that she connected most with the care of companion animals. Having a passion for learning, Dr. Byrd is always working toward improving her knowledge and practice in the innumerable subjects involved in treating animals. In her day to day, she really enjoys dentistry, urgent care, and geriatric care. Of course, no day would be complete without some love from all the puppies and kittens! She really strives to make a connection with each pet and owner and to do her best to find what treatment plans will work best for that family.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Byrd is the proud mom of three beautiful children and a wide assortment of pets. She currently has a variety of cats and dogs, snakes, turtles, lizards, just to name a few! She enjoys exercising her creative side with watercolor painting, reading, and listening to music. Summer is her favorite season with as many trips to the beach as she can fit in!
